BETA1 is here!! Please note the following issues for a couple items that will affect users upgrading from alpha > beta.

Drupal 7.x-2.x Compatibility

The 2.x version of the Omega theme for Drupal 7 is now in Beta, and includes HTML5 support, zones are now rendered as arrays, and many bug fixes. This marks what should be the last major API changes that require template edits before a fully stable release.

Drupal 7.x-1.x Compatibility

The 1.x version of the Omega theme for Drupal 7 is no longer supported, and upgrade to the 2.x version is required.

I've recently started developing my own Drupal sites using Jake's Omega theme as the basis. It's a terrific framework with a load of powerful options, and a it's real pleasure to work with as a designer. Creating and customizing a sub-theme has been quick and easy for me... and I am relatively new to Drupal development. The exciting part is that I've been able to do so much with it already, and I've barely scratched the surface with all that's built into it.
